Director of the Mongolian Institute for Geopolitical studies D.Myagmar /Sc.D., Prof./ and analyst professor of the Mongolian Institute for Geopolitical studies, Ambassador D.Bayarkhuu /Ph.D., Prof./ paid a working visit to Brussels from 18- 23th of May 2014 by the invitation of the Public Diplomacy Division of the NATO. During this visit delegates have participated in presentation trip of the NATO headquarters.
In this trip participated 14 delegates from 7 countries such as Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zeeland, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Mongolia.
During this presentation trip all delegates held a meeting with Deputy Secretary- General of the NATO Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, other Heads of major divisions and other officials. Moreover, they have been presented with work of the Defense Policy and Planning Division held in Mons, Belgium.
Also in the framework of this visit participated in round table meetings such as ”NATO Partnerships”, ”NATO’s Public Diplomacy in the run-up to the Summit” ,”SHAPE and Allied Command Operation”, “Military Cooperation Division”, “The Strategic Security Environment in the North Atlantic area and the Asia-Pacific Region”, “NATO-Ukraine and NATO-Russia Relations”, “Afghanistan: Cooperation with Partners/Lessons learned on NATO-led Operations”, “NATO-EU relations”, “Development of Defense Capabilities in times of financial constraints”, “Maritime Security”, “NATO and Women, Peace and Security”, “Collective Security versus Cooperative Security” and shared opinions and views with delegates and analytics from other countries.
Professor D.Myagmar gave a speech named “Collective security and Cooperative security: relations to Mongolia” in “Collective Security versus Cooperative Security” round table meeting, Ambassador D.Bayarkhuu gave a speech named “NATO’s public diplomacy and Mongolia” during the “NATO Partnership” round table meeting.
Press and Information office of the MIGS reported that 2 scientific papers that are written in the preparation background for this round table meetings : Professor D.Myagmar – “Mongolia-NATO relations”, Ambassador D.Bayarkhuu – “NATO’s public diplomacy and Mongolia” will be published in “Mongolian Journal of Geopolitical studies”.
