As the world takes a shape more globalized and homogenous, cultural diversity that exists in it is facing a danger of extinction. Foreseeing this threat, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO hereafter) adopted the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (the Convention hereafter) in 2003 in a bid to expand its efforts which previously was confined only within the scope of “tangible”, and “natural” heritage.
